Upon retirement, my wife, Sharon, and I moved from the Bay Area to Gardnerville.  In December 2014, we found Berean Bible Church, a church that holds to the entire Bible. Almost four years ago the pastor was forced to give up his ministry with BBC because of ever increasing business demands. The other Elder, Ross Turner, and I found ourselves leading the church including preaching. We would frequently have Godly men from nearby churches for pulpit supply. Sadly, Brother Ross was called to glory in 2017. Now as the only elder, God continued to lift and guide me during this challenging time. I was surrounded with Godly men and women including Ross’ widow, Joan, who never hesitated as they supported Sharon and me. We actually grew during this time with believers who are very serious about their relationship with their Lord.  We remained committed to all of God’s Word.

In 2019, God answered our corporate prayers and sent us Luke and Gina Wartgow. Pastor Luke is dedicated to preaching the entire Word of God. We have since changed the church name to Carson Valley Bible Church which we believe more clearly proclaims what we as a church stands for.

Sharon and I have been overwhelmingly blessed with God’s blessing for not only sustaining this body but for his guidance as we serve him to amplify his glory. We are a Christ-centered loving church who welcomes all who want to know more about Jesus.
